All-State Dorchestra is over! It was very amazing. The concert was excellent; however, I am getting stabbing pains in the tip of my left index finger, as if there was a splinter
The concert was excellent, yes, but... something wonderful and tragic happened afterward.
I got a new bass.

Yes, it's shiny. Yes, it's new. Yes, it has a richer tone and better response and shorter action and adjustable bridge and independent machine heads for the tuning pegs and it's easier to get a good tone and okay harmonics and great projection and a tailpiece that isn't about to snap and shiny laminate and sounds like a million bucks, but...
I still love my old bass.

You must understand my angst... hmm....
It's like winning an epic battle for the lives of the people of your kingdom and personally dueling the enemy sorcerer with the sword that was your grandfather's, but then when you arrive back at camp with the hilt still hot in your hand you request a new sword from the smith at camp... because you can. (<-- fantasy terms)

Again I come back to the concert. We played The Merry Wives of Windsor (fun, I guess), Symphony 2 'Romantic' Movement 3 by Howard Hanson (You have to hear it yourself: [link]), and Jupiter from The Planets Suite by Holst. It has been one of my dearest aspirations to play Jupiter ever since I heard it and knew I was good enough to be in it. Mars from the same is also up there, along with others that show the real meaning of music to me.
It was an amazing weekend, but my hands feel like hamburger
